" PRECIOUS JEWELS AROUND YOUR NECK WAS THOSE TINY ARMS OF THE KIDS WHO HUGGED YOU"

We don't meet people by accident. They are meant to cross our path for a reason. Katja from Germany has proved this and has brought great smiles in the numerous faces of CWE during the time she spent with us from 05th of May till 18th of June and we hope for the same in future too.
Katja Koch from Germany looking after the children works inside the class room of Child Welfare & Education children home.
Children of CWE during the playing hours after returning back from School. In the mean time two new friends Gloria Gao and Elena Yang from China also joined us and you could see them happy playing with kids. School in Nepal starts from 10:00 AM in the morning and ends at 4:00 PM. Kids after returning from school to the children home enjoys the free hours before they go to do their homework or study.
Sharing about the different culture and foods, and exchanging it with the different people is the best way for learning to each other lives and cultures. Elena Yang enjoying the food and describing about her taste and food experience.
Some evenings ends with the music and dancing. The moment you forget all your stress and move your body in the rhythm of the musics on the dance floor is really amazing feeling that you can get. Elena was happy to join the dance with the children.
When the music starts playing, you can't stop the crowd gathering in the sitting room and it's wonderful how the kids enjoy the moment and how the bigger ones also joins them. In the crowd Katja was every time with the kids.
Who says, "boys cant dance" you got to come at our children home and you will see what on Earth they can do and how they rocks the dance floor. Gloria and Katja enjoying the boys going crazy on dance floor.
After some days, we set trip to my village and from there we hiked up to the village called Daduwa on the day of election. A view inside the jungle while hiking up the hill.
On the day of election we were heading up with the villagers. The local level election was held after 20 years in Nepal so we could see most of the villagers taking part in this election.
Walking up high in the mountain for Katja was pleasant but i know this was just a little thing for her as she had already did the Langtang trek before she arrived to Pokhara.
The view of different green big hills was great to see though the walk going up and up was bit hard which made us tired but we enjoyed our views a lot.
Katja, must be saying, "this is all what i was expecting after the two and half hours of hiking up the hill".

While we reached the election venue there was already people waiting in line for voting. "Staying in line, waiting for your turn, try to be calm" this you will know how it works in Nepal.
Sunny hot day and waiting in line for the turn was not what i expected, but since we had to walk up the hill so it took more time than other villagers to reach the venue so we had to wait for our turn.
After giving the vote, it was already time for us to head down again to our village. It was great to know already that we are heading down this time and will be much easier than hiking up straight.
On the way down, we could see Shepard resting underneath the umbrella and looking the spectacular views of the mountains.
The villagers and kids joined us going the down hill. It was fun walking down the hill and inside the jungle.
The place which we called home, where we have our various farm works on going along with human residential for good cause.
In the farm we spent our time with talking to each other and playing games. Its always nice to be in village away from the city crowd, it gives really peace and happiness for your soul.
Back at the children home in Pokhara in our backyard play ground area for the kids, the playing items like table tennis board, i.e. one part of board/piece of marble was destroyed and even the playing yard was empty because we took them all out thinking that we will shift to another place but it was not successful last year. Hence, Katja and we decided to make this project work done for the kids again to have a play yard ready.

Katja used to come everyday to our children home and she started with cleaning the iron frame work for the table tennis but as most of the metal was rusted already, so we had to get the new pieces for the whole top part. You only need to start but there are always kids who will follow you. This is the best part for teaching them for working in team.

It's interesting to watch the kids joining in cleaning the playing materials what we intended to assembled them again for them.
For us it was everyday task to clean them for making them again ready to assembled it on the ground. Katja and the CWE kids seen working behind our play yard.
Finally, the cleaning work was done, all the rust and old paints were gone and Katja seemed finally happy because the way how we were taking time for doing everything might her made her really tired but in another way she must be getting to understand the Nepali way of working mostly by taking time.
As the election for the first part in Nepal was over, there was already winner of different parties announced and we could see even in Pokhara people celebrating their victory.
Beside our regular project work for making the backyard playing area for the kids, in the mean time there was dance competition held for the children who resides inside the different children homes in Kaski district. We had our these pretty girls taking part in the dance competition. You know when the time comes with the nice cultural dress than off course you need to pose "Namaste" in front of person saying "say cheese".
Our dancer "Nira" was one of the contestant for the inter children home dance competition but sadly she could not make into top 20's.
These were our three pretty girls who took part in the dance competition and funny thing was the girl in the middle named Sabbu was the choreographer for the both girls who are beside her but being a choreographer herself, she was also not selected where are Ritisha entered into top 20's.

This was our Ritisha who entered into top 20's and made CWE proud of her. She made the competition with other 42 children homes dancers.
In the mean time Katja supported for buying us the half piece of marble stone for the table tennis board and even the metal stands were painted black and it was ready to play again.
As we were done with table tennis board now still slide and swing was still waiting for us for the painting work. Sunny day and while Katja was busy doing the paint works, Prakash and i had to dig a hole on the ground. I know digging hole is really not a work that i prefer. Hahaha!!!
Prakash our young boy is really a hard working person, he really did a great job in helping dig the holes for the swing. It was good to see how everything was growing day by day.
We all know that "life is all about those things what we don't expect  but it just comes itself" our lovely child Kanchan broke her arm during the time she joined the other kids for playing in the park and had to get operation. For Katja it was a nice time to know the how hospital systems works here in Nepal. You got to be really calm and have patience but nothing happens in time in hospital and you got to wait really a long time for everything.
Kanchan was really happy to have Katja taking care of her during the time she had to stay in hospital. Playig different games and talking to each other, they really had nice time together.
In the children home we had a new friend named Leo (Jingshu Yang) too from China. He prepared "wuyi rock tea" for all the kids. what do you need else when you have a pleasing Chinese music and rock tea for the kids right after the kids returning back home from their school.
Evening is always something pleasing for the CWE kids, dancing in some English numbers and Nepali numbers is what you find here. You can't say no, the kids are dragging you to the dance floor and you got to enjoy anyhow.  Leo enjoying the dance with the kids.
The only thing that makes you forget all your stress is when you see the innocent child giving you big huge smiles and gives you the entire love what she can express and havs, when you are giving your love to her/him.
While reading the other stuffs, you must be wondering what about the on going project work, i.e. making of playing materials. It was still ongoing and finally the swing was ready and you could see the kids enjoying the swing.
The best way of learning is by playing as well. When you see the kids enjoying  how they play, it feels great and Katja was enjoying the moment what she created for the children again and finally everything was taking its shape and was happy to see it was worthy doing all work everyday.
While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about. Time spent playing with children is never wasted.
Evening with the children watching movie is one of the best moment for all the kids and definitely it teaches lot for them in different ways.
While some kids enjoy the show, some just sleep right after watching for a while but it's a pleasing moment to be all together in one place and enjoy the moment. Katja surrounded by the CWE kids and enjoying herself the movie night inside the children home.
The true happiness is all about returning to your childhood and watch the animated films or cartoons and forget what  the rest world is doing but simply enjoy the moment.
Life is all about being happy in learning new thing and cooking is always a sweet thing what brings your soul feel happy in doing. Hence we tried to teach Katja for cooking Nepali food one evening and it seems that she was happy to learn it. Daal Bhat Tarkari, ....after all its all about daal bhat power, 24 hours....
While Katja is preparing the food our cook Sharmila is assisting her. In fact in the name of translating what our cook is teaching or saying, i think it's even a good time for me also for learning how to cook.
CWE has little nurse Eva but you got to be really careful with this little nurse and check really what sort of disinfection hygiene spray she is using to clean the wounds. Hahaha!

"What did you find difference about education in Nepal and Germany?". An interview in the park while we took our children for playing.
Katja taught our kids the balloons game. They really enjoyed to play this game. Tie balloon in everyone hand and anyone is allowed to break the balloon from anyone. The last who can save the balloon in his hand is the winner.
CWE family : its all about being together, enjoying together and happy living together.
Going to the park and playing games is really a wonderful time to spent time with the CWE kids. During the time while returning back home together with the children from the park.
One evening Katja wanted to make Cheese Spaghetti for the kids for evening dinner. It's wonderful thing that they can get something different to taste tonight.
It's not only Katja is preparing but in the same time she is teaching how to prepare that food for the children and even for our cook. This is nice way for exchanging culture and teaching about the foods.
The kids have already got the nice smell of the food what Katja has been preparing and they are already around the kitchen for getting their plates ready.

Finally the food prepared by Katja was ready but what's that in that big pot? Hahaha, obviously it's a rice. We had to take care for those students who still wanted to eat rice beside the cheese spaghetti as well.

The evening walk with the kids. Its a walk to remember, every evening after dinner, we had a nice time walking in the street with the kids. Our kids enjoyed the walk and they must be happy to do this every evening after the dinner.
In NEPAL we eat vegetable (curry) of jackfruit, Sharmila taught Katja to prepare the jackfruit and made curry for the whole children. The preparation is little hard as it has sticky substances but after cooking the jackfruit really turns to be delicious curry.

Finally the task for painting work started even for the swing. Katja enjoyed the painting work much every day.

Fun time for kids inside the house. Playing the indoor games and kids having fun during the off hour after their returning back from their school.
Finally the last part of our project work for finishing the playing area was installing the slide. For digging the required holes almost most of the big children helps us. It's good that kids learn to work in team and play with mud and stones as well.

Finally everything was ready to assembled all together and make it ready for our children to slide again with big smiles.
It was great see our children having fun in our backyard playing station. This will feel them great from long study hours at their school. Katja played a great role for making this happen. In picture it looks like easy work and could have finished within one day work but various works for making it perfect place in every ways took us time and now the children are having fun over there.
Life is all about letting old friends go and  meeting new friends who comes again and waiting to all friends again to come again to meet. So we had every time such a situation in CWE.
Suddenly one day we got a call from the BTS Army, Pokhara (fan club), i.e. fans from  Bangtan Boys, Bulletproof Boy Scouts or Beyond The Scene,  a seven-member South Korean boy band formed by Big Hit Entertainment. Their name in Korean - Bangtan Sonyeondan. These team came to donate stationery items to our children home.

Our kids had lots of fun with the BTS Army, i.e. the fan club of BTS here in Pokhara. We are grateful to their great initiation in the field of social work being themselves as a small school going children as well.
Katja herself is a person who loves water and swimming. Hence, we took our children for swimming in Fewa lake and we tried to teach them in the water. But taking care of all the kids inside the water was, kinda tough job.

One day you will miss this...keep the child inside you alive.

Finally this year the district children welfare board, kaski provided us the certificate of running children home.

On 17th of May, Ritisha had her final dance performance at chamber hall of Pokhara. All the CWE children were invited by katja for the show. We really had a nice time the whole day with the kids enjoying the children home final dance competition and various singing programs for that day.

Ritisha couldn't win the top five position but she got the certificate of  participation and for her this was the great platform for performing her dance in front of hundreds audiences.

In the evening after the program, as a farewell dinner, Katja prepared bread with Jam, honey, cheese, etc. as well as watermelon for the whole CWE family and we had lovely evening.

Preparing bread for the whole CWE family, yes it really takes time. But the good thing is that as always there are always helping hand beside you with the sweet smiles on their faces.

And finally the children were happy to get their meal after the long beautiful day.

After every meeting there is always another departure but the hope of meeting again is always there inside everyone. Finally it was farewell evening for Katja also that day and we had nice farewell celebration evening.

While being inside CWE, it has given a nice memories for Katja and we have even learnt a lot from her during her time with us. We hope the flag of Nepal will always remind her Nepal and we will remain inside her heart forever and same within us she is going to be always in our sweet memories and we hope to see you soon.

“Thank you for the good times, The days you filled with pleasure for CWE children. Thank you for fond memories that the CWE has, And for feelings we'll always treasure”

Katja left Nepal on 18th of June for the next destination but we are sure that some day “A lost road will remember your footsteps because someday you may want to return, tracing the way.” and just around the corner, i could hear the voice of a child saying, "someday, somewhere, we will meet us again."
